MacGregor has won an order with an unnamed client to deliver cargo handling cranes for four 62,000 dwt general cargo ships to be built in Asia.

The company, part of Cargotec, said Friday the order was booked into Cargotec's third quarter 2020 order intake. Deliveries are planned to start during the third quarter of 2021 and completed during the first quarter of 2022.

"MacGregor has won this contract in a difficult and highly competitive market environment, demonstrating both the quality of MacGregor equipment and confidence in the comprehensive through-life support provided to customers," the company said.

”We are very pleased that our ship owner and shipbuilder customers have trusted our quality, knowledge, and expertise by placing this significant contract with us”, says Magnus Sjöberg, Senior Vice President, Merchant Solutions Division, MacGregor.

The orderbook for U.S. dredgers is about $3B, and according to DCA CEO Bill Doyle, the incoming political administration could help this niche maritime sector continue its bull run.
