Lockheed Martin Delivers MMSR for AUTEC
"Lockheed Martin MS2 recently delivered an important radar system for use at AUTEC in the Bahamas," said John H. Visneuski, AUTEC Program Manager. "That provides us with the capability to localize a large number of air and sea targets across the full area of the test range." "The MMSR system has mid-range surveillance capability - 50 nautical miles (approximately 57 statute miles) - with clutter cancellation and stationary target detection features that provide the Navy with the very accurate positioning information that it needs in all types of weather," said Rich Bulak, Lockheed Martin program manager.
The MMSR radar was produced at Lockheed Martin's facility in Syracuse, NY, following a $5.5 million contract awarded by the Naval Underwater Warfare Center in 2002.
