OW Bunker Launches Six Vessels
The six new bunker fuel delivery vessels, OW Baltic, OW Scandinavia, OW Atlantic, OW Las Palmas, OW Aalborg and OW Copenhagen range from 3,500 metric tons (MT) to 5,500 MT. OW Aalborg, and OW Copenhagen will operate offshore, off Copenhagen, Kalundborg and Skaw, as well as covering all major ports in Denmark, the west coast of Sweden and the south coast of Norway. OW Baltic and OW Scandinavia will be based in the Baltic and northwest Europe; OW Las Palmas will operate offshore to service the Canary Islands and the west coast of Africa; OW Atlantic will be offshore in the North Atlantic, deployed by OW IceBunker - specialists in high seas bunkering.
All the vessels are double-hulled, with double bottoms and double sides. OW Baltic and OW Scandinavia will provide a range of fuel products with pumping capacities of up to 800 metric tonnes per hour.
OW Aalborg, Copenhagen, Las Palmas and Atlantic will also have the capabilities to deliver low sulphur fuel oil, as well as MDO and MGO. Their segregated tanks are divided into 3000 cbm for fuel oil and 1000cbm for gas oil, with pumping capacities of between 500 and 600 metric tonnes per hour.
“It is vital that OW Bunker’s global fleet has the capability to operate at a standard that ensures the highest levels of delivery and customer service,” said Jørgen Olesen, General Manager, OW Tankers A/S.
The market is continually changing, with increasing pressure to create further efficiencies within the supply chain. By having state-of-the art vessels with high performance pumping capacities and re-fuelling rates, operated by highly trained crews, we have ability to make a real difference for our customers; helping them to improve the performance of their businesses and increase their profitability.”
