Kongsberg Wins Navy Training Contract

Kongsberg Maritime Simulations Inc., West Mystic, Conn., is being awarded a $12,132,013 firm-fixed-price contract for procurement of the Navigation Seamanship /Ship-handling Trainers (NSST), including logistics, maintenance and other support. NSST is a component of the Total Ship Training System family of systems. NSST's primary mission is to provide seamanship and ship handling training to the ship's helmsman on various Navy platforms. NSST will be fielded on U.S. Navy surface ships and in shore facilities at Fleet Concentration Areas. Work will be performed in West Mystic, Conn., and is expected to be completed by September 2011. The contract was competitively procured and advertised on the Internet, with two proposals received. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-05-C-5487).
