June 20, 2005

KCI Konecranes will supply four Shipboard Gantry Cranes (Konecranes-Munckloaders) to Oshima Shipyard in Japan to be installed onboard vessels ordered by Singaporean shipowner Masterbulk Pte. Ltd. The 55.000 DWT vessels will be delivered in 2007 and 2008, and will then be the largest in the world of its type. The value of the order is not released, but typically the unit price of this kind of crane is approximately USD 5-6 million. Oshima Shipbuilding, located near Nagasaki, Japan, specializes in the construction of all types of bulk carriers, delivering annually 24 to 30 vessels. In 2001, KCI Konecranes received a similar order from Oshima Shipbuilding for the first eight units of the new 70 tons Konecranes-Munckloader Crane. The cranes were installed onboard Masterbulk's four 48.000 DWT vessels in 2003-2004.
