Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

October 16, 2003

Gresham Marine Surveying, Inc., headquartered in Savannah, Ga., has opened operations serving the Savannah, Brunswick, Charleston, and Jacksonville maritime communities. Capt. Jeffrey T. Gresham, MNI, President of Gresham Marine Surveying, Inc., is one of only a few marine surveyors in the world currently providing the draft/freeboard indicator service. The draft/freeboard indicator is accurate for obtaining drafts on vessels and barges to 1/16th of an inch. This specialized instrument has gained a reputation in the maritime industry as being indispensable for calculating displacement tonnages on barges and bulk carriers. "When dealing with bulk cargo, whether loading or discharging, the freeboard/draft indicator is an exceptional tool for performing displacement draft surveys, and the accuracy is not affected by sea and swell," said Capt. Jeffrey Gresham. In addition to displacement draft surveys, Gresham Marine Surveying, Inc., also provides numerous other surveys, including: On/Off hire bunker and vessel condition, P&I, cargo damage claims, cargo operations during loading or discharge, hatch opening and steel cargo, and tanker ROB surveys. The company also provides expert witness services. "All surveys are performed in an unprejudiced manner with respect to the rights of all concerned parties," said Gresham.
