rescueME Introduced to Commercial Market
Marine communication and safety specialist Ocean Signal presents what they call the world’s smallest personal locator beacon at this year’s Seawork International, through U.K. distributors International Safety Products.
Following receipt of certifications for use throughout Europe and the U.S. in April, the rescueME PLB1 is now available from Ocean Signal’s worldwide network of distributors.
The easy-to-use, 116g rescueME PLB1, with dimensions of 77mm (height), 51mm (width) and 32.5mm (depth), is suited for a range of applications in the commercial market. It can be carried easily and unobtrusively by workers on tug boats, patrol vessels and other workboats and will not impede any activity, while providing instant access to emergency services at the press of a button.
Battery life is a primary consideration in the development of all Ocean Signal products. With a battery life of seven years, the market-leading personal locator beacon provides long-term coverage and complete security that anyone carrying the rescueME PLB1 can be located accurately by rescuers in the event of a life-threatening situation.
Providing a worldwide link to emergency services, Ocean Signal’s PLB is activated with one hand by extending the antenna, flipping up the protective cover and pressing the button. When activated, the rescueME PLB1 will transmit accurate position data from its 66 channel GPS, using the designated 406MHz search and rescue satellite communication system, as well as transmitting a 121.5MHz homing beacon.
The rescueME PLB1 will be exhibited by Ocean Signal partner and U.K. distributor International Safety Products, alongside Ocean Signal’s SafeSea range of products – the E100G Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB), the S100 Search and Rescue Transponder (SART) and the V100 handheld VHF.
Safety and communication products from Ocean Signal offer exceptional value, meeting or exceeding international technical and safety standards. Careful design and innovation provides commercial shipping, fishing and recreational users the confidence that their Ocean Signal equipment will work to, and beyond, their expectations when it is needed most.
