Shipping company Liberty One, already subscribed to INTERSCHALT's maintenance software package, decided to establish a full maintenance contract covering all navigation and communications systems on board including the VDR. After six months, say INTERSCHALT, the Bremen-based shipping company is seeing positive results.

As part of its Shore-based Maintenance (SBM) contract INTERSCHALT provides all inspection and maintenance work as well as parts and parts procurement at an annually agreed fixed price. This means no hidden follow-up costs for Liberty One, a reduced workload for its technical inspectors and safety improvements through constant status checks and no maintenance backlogs. Liberty One can now access a complete overview of the statuses of its vessels and their electronic systems, all from the office in Bremen.

"Liberty One is a young, dynamic company founded on traditional knowledge and experience in maritime shipping yet completely attuned to the times. As a result, for our service and maintenance work we have opted for INTERSCHALT's Shore-based Maintenance, an innovative solution which is tailored to our needs", says Dietrich Schulz, Director of Liberty One Shipmanagement GmbH & Co. KG.

INTERSCHALT describe themselves as an all-round product and service provider for the entire shipping industry. The company's product portfolio aims to make ship operations safer, and work on board - as well as on land - easier and more efficient. In addition to the headquarters in Schenefeld near Hamburg, eleven centers in Europe, North America and Asia provide a global and efficient service network, supported by partner expertise directly on site.
