International Talent Program in Demand

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

November 8, 2011

With application deadline only a week away, almost 800 candidates have so far applied to Aker Solutions' International Talent Programme. Applications are still coming in from all five selected recruitment countries.

The International Talent Programme is an intensive two-year on-the-job learning experience, consisting of three eight-month assignments, covering different roles, businesses and locations within Aker Solutions' global network of offices and technology and manufacturing centres. This year the talents will be selected from Brazil, Malaysia, Norway, USA and - for the first time - the UK. Start-up of the programme is September 2012, which means it is suitable for students who graduate next year.

As of 7 November, 793 candidates had applied to join the programme. Of these are 208 from Malaysia, 152 from USA, 146 from the UK, 145 from Brazil and 142 from Norway. "We are very satisfied with application levels. However, there is still one week left until application deadline so we would like to encourage everyone who fulfil the entry requirements to apply," says Sissel Lindland, chief HR officer in Aker Solutions. "The ultimate aim of the International Talent Programme is to prepare talents for future international management positions in Aker Solutions".

A typical candidate for the programme has recently graduated with a business degree at master level, preferably with an additional engineering degree. The person is proactive and analytical, and has a strong ability to build trusted relationships. Being a global programme, international exposure is important as well as fluency in English. In addition to the three eight-month assignments, candidates will regularly attend workshops around the world where participants on the programme are brought together to discuss progress and share experiences. Each talent will also be teamed up with a personal mentor who has extensive experience and coaching abilities, and will follow the talent throughout the programme to facilitate personal and professional development.

Aker Solutions is an international oil services company that employs 18 000 people in about 30 countries. The applications deadline for the International Talent Programme is 13 November. Further details can be found on www.akersolutions.com
