Toronto-headquartered Livingston International says it has acquired New York-based FPA Customs Brokers, Inc. “We look forward to welcoming the FPA team and their clients into the Livingston family,” said Livingston CEO Steven C. Preston.

The acquisition bolsters Livingston’s air/sea customs brokerage operations, and expands the company’s presence in the United States. Notably, it strengthens Livingston’s footprint in New York and Los Angeles, the country’s two largest ports. Livingston was also attracted to FPA’s expertise in the retail textiles and apparel industry sectors in which Livingston continues to grow its presence.

“This transaction fits perfectly into Livingston’s business strategy to expand our capabilities in the textile and apparel industry and increase our market share in key U.S. markets,” said Mr. Preston.

“We look forward to combining our brokerage operations with Livingston’s solutions and delivering a much stronger service portfolio to our clients,” added Norman Marchetti, co-owner of FPA Customs Brokers, Inc. “We know that our clients will benefit from the broad range of customs and trade services that Livingston provides.”

Founded in 1993, FPA specializes in U.S. air and sea customs brokerage, and has offices in New York and Los Angeles. Its clients import a wide variety of merchandise ranging from clothing and accessories, to toys, artwork and electronics.

Both Mr. Wawrzonek and Mr. Marchetti will be staying on to help guide the company through the transition and beyond.
