The U.S. Coast Guard, Marine Safety Office Los Angeles is hosting a
Multi-Agency Strike Force Operation (MASFO) for the purpose of inspecting the transportation of intermodal containers to ensure compliance with various federal, state, and local regulations.

Local police departments check drivers for proper driving credentials, search for contraband, and inspect trucks for safety regulations. Canines from both the Coast Guard and police departments will be used.
Participating agencies include: Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Long Beach Police Department,
U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Los Angeles Police Department, Federal Rail Administration, California Highway Patrol, Brea Police Department, California Air Resource Board, and the Department of Transportation Office of the Inspector General.
