Baltimore Marine Industries (BMI) has been granted several new contracts for ship work, including one valued at more than $2 million for the drydocking and maintenance of USNS Butte, an ammunition ship from the U.S. Navy's Military Sealift command fleet.
An agreement worth more than $500,000 for the drydocking and maintenance of Carnival Cruise Line's MS Imagination will also be performed by BMI, as well as a $3 million deal for the drydocking and overhaul of USNS Kanawha, a Military Sealift Command fleet oiler, which will arrive at the Yard on November 5.
Princess Cruise Lines' MS Royal Princess is due in at the Yard on November 6 to undergo $1 million worth of drydocking and maintenance. BMI also signed a contract with Maersk Line Limited for the drydocking and maintenance of the Maritime Prepositioning Ship (MPS) M/V CPL. Louis J. Hauge. Arriving at the yard on December 27, the contract also provides for similar work on each of three additional MPS vessels. The total value of this specific contract is estimated to exceed $3 million.
