S.A.E. (SCCT) to implement the TOPS Terminal Operations Productivity
Solution at the new, state-of-the-art container terminal in Port Said,
Egypt. The multi-year agreement includes implementation of TOPS, ongoing

SCCT has selected GTS to support its mission to develop the leading
container hub in the Eastern Mediterranean at Port Said East on the newly
dredged Eastern bypass of the Suez Canal. The SCCT project is one of the
most significant port development efforts in the world and will result in
the creation of a state-of-the-art 600,000-square-meter container terminal
with annual throughput capacity of 2.6 million TEU. The quay length is 1,200
meters. When fully developed, SCCT will operate the terminal with 12 Super
Post-Panamax cranes, 36 RTGs and on-dock rail capabilities. SCCT is
on-schedule to begin operations in October 2004. GTS won the bid to provide
the terminal operating system over several other vendors.
"GTS is uniquely qualified to support development of the world-class,
state-of-the-art Suez Canal Container Terminal at Port Said," said Philip
Littlejohn, Managing Director of SCCT. "Our mission is to create the premier
container hub in the Eastern Mediterranean using the latest terminal

solution with the very latest in terminal management software that will
address our unique requirements and help us reach our very high productivity
targets. Also in our consideration was our confidence in the GTS staff of
experts to fully support the implementation, training and development of the
product."
