Luna Joins Hempel USA
Hempel USA hired Jose Luna as its new Regional Marketing Manager for the Americas. Luna has more than 13 years of experience in the paint industry, experience gained at AkzoNobel/ International Paint and ex former ICI/Devoe Coatings where he worked in several countries and roles. He has a broad range of experience, from technical service, sales, engineering and strategic marketing.
Luna started his career in Panama as a Technical Service Representative, and then moved to London to be a WW Marketing Representative and was promoted after a year to become the Information Systems Manager WW Protective coatings. After two years in that position, he was transferred to Mexico as Key Account Manager for PEMEX where he managed and led the strategy for protective coatings and where his team increased sales in large scale. He also developed and implemented the Engineering Department in Mexico.
Then Luna was hired by Devoe and moved to California to work as Regional Business Development Manager for the West region of USA. When being promoted to Director of Engineering, he moved to Houston early in 2008 and after Devoe was acquired by AkzoNobel/International Paint, Jose became the new Americas Oil & Gas Market Manager.
He has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical & Industrial Engineering from the Technological University of Panama and an MBA with a specialization in Marketing from the Latina University of Panama plus an MBA Update at University of California at Irvine. Jose is fully bilingual in Spanish and English in addition to knowledge of Portuguese. He has a wide training in management, as well as in coatings being a NACE Certified Coating Inspector where he also has an overall well rounded Market knowledge and Global expertise.
