Crews from Public Service of New Hampshire were returning to the site of an oil spill at low tide Tuesday to ensure that all remaining contaminated soil is removed, according to a Seacoast Online report.
The spill was discovered PSNH officials Monday morning and was caused by an oil line relief valve in a holding tank that released the oil into the ground.
PSNH officials, the Coast Guard and environmental groups worked quickly, containing the accidental spill on their property before it could spread.
According to the report, approximately 75 to 80 gallons of oil were released, but the area of the spill has since been contained.
