GPH Set to Acquire Tunisian Port Terminal
Cruise port operator Global Ports Holding (GPH) said it made a successful bid to acquire Goulette Shipping Cruise through a joint venture with cruise line MSC Cruises SA.
Goulette Shipping Cruise operates the cruise terminal in La Goulette, Tunisia.
The concession to operate the cruise port was awarded to Goulette Shipping Cruise in 2006 on a 30-year basis, with a right to extend the term for an additional 20 years.
While passenger volumes have been low in recent years, in 2010, La Goulette welcomed 900k passenger and between 2011-2014 it welcomed on average 441k cruise passengers per annum.
All parties will now work together to conclude the legal agreement for the acquisition and we will provide an update at our interim results in August 2019.
