Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

October 24, 2006

Furuno was honored with three awards at the prestigious 2006 National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) Convention in Naples, FL. This was the 35th anniversary of the NMEA awards. Keeping with tradition, Furuno was recognized by the NMEA more than any other manufacturer. To date, Furuno has received a total of 163 such awards since 1971. Furuno is extremely proud to win in a new category of Manufacturer of the Year - Support. This new award clearly illustrates what an important role customer service plays in the relationship with not only the technical marine electronics dealer network, but also the professionals who use our productsTaking top honors in the Radar category for the thirty-first consecutive year was Furuno with the 1800/1900 NavNet vx2 series of radars. Each radar in this series is a workhorse, offering maximum performance in a compact and user-friendly 10.4-inch color LCD display package. Each Radar in the NavNet vx2 series allows flexibility to create a variety of bridge configurations, including single, dual and even tri or quad-stations, utilizing an Ethernet Hub. NavNet vx2 is completely component based, so if you need to add a sounder, GPS/WAAS, weather fax or a remote depth display, each component can be added to the network through a single cable and then accessed from any NavNet display. Each unit also has standard NMEA0183 ports that allow it to be connected to other NMEA0183 electronics. In addition, the 10.4-inch color NavNet displays have the capability to display external video on screen and to send video out.
