Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

April 10, 2002

A&P Falmouth has won the contract to carry out repairs onboard the chain ferry Tamar during April. The vessel is operated by the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry Joint Committee. A&P Falmouth has carried out regular dry docking and refit operations on the Tamar and her two sister vessels the Plym and Lynher since the vessels were built over 30 years ago. A&P Falmouth also carried out lengthening projects on all three vessels to increase their vehicle carrying capacity between April 1986 and April 1987. Repairs on the Tamar, which is in due to be in dry dock for 16 days, will include general maintenance, steel repairs and painting. The contract also includes the towage from Plymouth to Falmouth and return after refit is completed.
