International health and safety training specialist, Falck Nutec, has strengthened its UK management team with the appointment of two new directors.

Allison Walker steps up to director of sales and marketing, Niel Rennie has been appointed finance director and they will be supported by human resources manager Gillian Jagger who takes on a senior role within the management team.

Falck Nutec operates in the oil and gas, marine and renewable sectors, providing a range of vital training courses and expert advice, including offshore safety, fire safety and fire fighting, offshore emergency response, helideck training and offshore wind safety.

The trio have a combined 18 years service with the global safety and training provider which employs 125 staff at bases in Aberdeen, Teesside, Peterhead and Montrose.

The appointments are part of a long term strategic development plan for the Danish-owned business which has invested more than £1 million in its UK facilities in the past year.

Allison Walker, based at Falck Nutec’s Aberdeen training centre in Dyce, was previously UK sales manager and will continue to focus on developing the sales and marketing functions while taking on wider management responsibilities.

Finance director Niel Rennie joined the company 10 months ago from an oil and gas and subsea projects background and will oversee continued investment in facilities and infrastructure at the four UK locations, while senior manager Gillian Jagger has a strong track record in HR and has been part of the company’s continual expansion since joining in 2000.

Falck Nutec’s regional director for Europe, Poul Victor Jensen, said the new appointments would be a foundation to ensuring the company retained its position as the leading provider of safety training in the UK and Europe.

Mr Jensen said: “Each year 30,000 people trust us with their lives and take part in our training courses. To continue to earn that trust and maintain our market dominance we must have in place the strongest possible leadership team.

“Allison, Niel and Gillian are totally committed to growing the Falck Nutec brand and building on our long heritage, and the business will benefit from their enthusiasm and talent through the delivery of even stronger results in the years ahead.”

Allison Walker added: “Falck Nutec is the longest established provider of health and safety training services and the only one with a genuine global presence. All three of us are looking forward to channelling our industry experience in to maintaining our market position and we will do that by winning the trust of new corporate and self-sponsoring clients.”
