Evergreen Marine plans to order at least 20 container ships in the next 10 years to replace existing vessels, according to a Bloomburg report. Purchases of the ships, each able to carry 7,000 20-foot containers, will be open to bids, according to the repot. Prices for ships of this size have risen to $100 million per from $70 million three years ago. A boom in transporting manufactured goods from China and carrying raw materials to the country has fueled demand for new ships. (Source: Bloomberg)
