Evergreen Marine Corporation said that Chang Kuo-wei, the late founder's son, was no longer on its board of directors, reports local media.
Chang's seat on its board of directors will be filled by Hsieh Huey-chuan.
According to observers, the Chang Kuo-wei faced the latest setback in his losing war of succession when he left the board of Evergreen International Storage & Transport Corp. on Wednesday (March 16)
Evergreen International Storage, one of Evergreen Group’s publicly traded businesses, announced a reassignment of its corporate directors and supervisors.
The shipping firm said Chang had been replaced with Wei Mao-chun, general manager of Evergreen International Storage & Transport Corp.
Evergreen Marine is a container shipping firm in the Evergreen Group, which has been embroiled in a battle of succession since the founder's death on Jan. 20.
In February, Chang Kuo-wei said his late father had appointed him chairman of the Evergreen Group and the sole heir to his estate, which is estimated at US$1.6 billion.
Chang's three older brothers later used their combined voting power to dissolve the position of the Evergreen Group chairman, and then ousted him as the head of EVA Airways.
According to Chang Kuo-wei’s lawyer Daniel Song, Chang’s brothers said he could still work as a pilot for EVA Airways, however Chang was not considering the offer.
