On Feb. 19, the 624-foot bulk freighter Ocean Sunrise sat at anchor in the waters off Long Beach, Calif., after been removed from the rocks surrounding Island Freeman. Strong winds and heavy rains pushed the freighter from its mooring location into the tiny, man-made island the night before. The Coast Guard and California response agencies finished inspections of the hull and determined the vessel posed no threat to the environment, as the hull's integrity was not compromised.
