UK's LRED Presented with Queen's Award for Enterprise
Lloyds Register Energy Drilling (LRED), formerly ModuSpec Engineering UK Limited, was presented with the award by Aberdeen's Lord Lieutenant George Adam, acting on behalf of HM the Queen, in recognition of the company's sustained business expansion.
Lloyds Register Energy - Drilling UK is an Aberdeen, Scotland-based market leading company, providing a range of innovative services to ensure the operational integrity of drilling assets for the oil and gas sector, often working in hostile environments.
To be awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise in the category of International Trade, a company must show a substantial and sustained increase in export earnings over three consecutive 12 month periods, to a level which is outstanding for the products and services concerned, and for the size of the organisation.
Lloyds Register Energy Drilling UK has achieved significant sales in the Netherlands, Norway and the US and increasingly in South Korea. High demand for new build drilling rigs, partly due to oil demand and the age of units currently in operation, has also seen a sharp increase for technical coaching delivered from the companys training academy.
Margaret Mulcahy, Lloyds Register Energy Drilling Sr Vice President for Europe, Africa & FSU, said: "It is an honour to receive such a high profile award which is a tribute to the hard work put in by our staff over a number of years."
