Canadian Maritime Engineering of Dartmouth Nova Scotia announced the purchase of Brenton Gray Boatyards of Sambro Head. Located near the approaches to Halifax Harbour, Brenton Gray Shipyard has a long history of ship repair and two marine slipways, the largest capable of lifting a 300 ton vessel.

CME has plans to expand and develop the existing facilities and waterfront site adjacent to the Port of Halifax.

Canadian Maritime Engineering won the NATO supplier excellence award in 2008, and operates, coast to coast, with branches in Victoria, Sarnia, and over 60,000 sq ft of modern facilities at three locations in Nova Scotia and is part of a Canadian owned company with over 300 skilled tradesmen and approximately 100 in Nova Scotia. CME recently completed two successful docking refits at this facility, the first being the CCGS Sambro and the second the HRM Ferry Dartmouth III.
