Wireline Engineering Reports Continued Global Growth

Aberdeen-based Wireline Engineering said it is continuing its global expansion, with £1.9 million of new projects secured in key regions during the first half of 2013.

The firm develops original wireline and well intervention technologies for the oil and gas industry worldwide. Key contracts have been secured in North America, Southeast Asia, West Africa and the Middle East, reflecting Wireline Engineering’s ambitions to continue extending its geographical footprint.

Local partnerships have been confirmed in Nigeria and Indonesia and the Middle East. Recent orders from Angola, Indonesia, Iraq, Malaysia and Nigeria have reinforced the firm’s continued success worldwide and the opportunities for its innovative products and services.

Wireline Engineering Director Bill Petrie said, “It is always rewarding to see customers benefit from our products, but it’s particularly pleasing for a smaller company with specialist technologies to see the range of territories where we are winning orders.”

To emphasise the importance of developing relevant technologies, the company recently completed challenging well intervention work in the North Sea, using its unique Advanced Kickover Tool for two oil and gas majors. Both contracts involved the successful removal and replacement of gas lift valves as part of the well intervention program, leading to significant time and economic savings for each company and mitigating safety risk in the process.

"The Advanced Kickover Tool is a breakthrough in performing trouble-free gas lift operations in deviated wells, particularly run in conjunction with our Roller Bogie conveyance tools and our Low-Loader deviated jarring tool. Collectively, this intervention package provides an efficient, reliable and cost-effective solution to servicing gas lift installations in more challenging deviated conditions.”
