The Ocean Sea Award will be presented to Raymond P. Ebeling, Chairman and

Chairman and CEO of The American Shipping Group.
The maritime industryÂąs most prestigious honors will be awarded at a gala
industry dinner and dance to be held at the Sheraton New York Hotel and
Towers, New York City, on November 5, 2004. John Bowers, Chairman of the
USS AOTOS Committee and President of the International LongshoremenÂąs

"These two industry leaders from management we salute this year
represent the finest in American spirit," said Mr. Bowers. "Mr. EbelingÂąs
career has spanned some of the finest companies in American shipping and Bob

Mr. Bowers added: "Our recipients have been selected by those who know them
best--international transportation leaders who understand very well the
challenges and issues that confront United States shipping and American
seafarers and who wish to recognize leadership in this area."
Raymond Ebeling and Robert Magee led the field of nominees for the award,
solicited by USS from more than 200 maritime management, labor and
