Drilling in Safety with AMOS2
BassDrill Management Inc. (an American company formed to design, fabricate & operate safe & efficient drilling equipment) has recently opted to use AMOS2 Enterprise Management Suite software and have SpecTec provide many of the general application activities that might be provided by a typical AMOS Administrator.
With their use of AMOS in the office going strong, BassDrill has made the strategic decision to implement AMOS 2 on tender unit drilling ‘BassDrill Alpha’ (Classification: ABS +A1 Barge), delivered on January 2010 and currently committed to Perenco. BassDrill Alpha has been working with Perenco in the Republic of Congo since October 2010.
On August 2011, BassDrill received a letter of award from ‘Total Congo’, informing them that the operator intends to utilize the rig in the Republic of Congo, beginning in October and most likely running through until at least May 2012.
The contract signed with SpecTec USA is for the supply of AMOS 2 full suite, database and associated consultancy services. Those services include the general User Administration of the users, groups, field access, approval limits, replication monitoring and management. Additionally, a SpecTec Consultant will look after BassDrill’s project in order to carefully report application malfunctions or interruptions arisen that might otherwise disrupt the user’s ability to operate the system. Likewise, SpecTec can address the malfunction or trouble-shoot the issue in a shorter period of time.
With BassDrill being a new client to AMOS2 and without having an in-house AMOS expert, this Application Administration Services contract will allow the company the flexibility, support and responsiveness they need until their users become comfortable and familiar enough with the general operation of AMOS functionalities.
