Van Oord's Dredger Named 'Artemis'

Van Oord's second large self-propelled cutter suction dredger, was named 'Artemis' & launched at the IHC Merwede shipyard in Kinderdijk, Holland

The vessel will be ready in the first half of 2013. The contract for the vessel’s design, construction and delivery was signed on 20 December 2010.  

The Artemis is a sister vessel to the Athena, which was delivered at the end of 2011. Since Van Oord took receipt of the Athena, it has deployed the large cutter suction dredger successfully on various projects. Construction of the two ships has been a major boost for the Dutch economy.
