McMurdo announces the conditional sale of its Survivor Location Lights business to Danish owned company Daniamant Ltd. The move to transfer the manufacture of lifejacket, liferaft and lifebouy lights enables McMurdo to continue its strategic process of focussing on the company’s core technologies, namely the design and manufacture of Cospas/Sarsat satellite location products, including Smartfind EPIRBs, Fastfind PLBs as well as Radar SARTs, Navtex and VHF emergency radios. Following the sale, the lights will continue to be manufactured in Portsmouth by the newly formed Daniamant Ltd. The business transfer will take place over the month of June, with completion by June 30th. McMurdo has commenced a comprehensive product launch programme including the new RNLI Man Overboard MOB Guardian system unveiled at the Glasgow Fishing Expo, May 16th. Other products launched in the past week include the new Colour Display Navtex Nav7, SVDR Float Free black box for commericial ships and the Smartfind EPIRB.
