CGSS Aroroy Rescues 62 From Distressed Motor Boat

A total of 54 passengers and eight crew members including the boat captain were safe after they were rescued by the personnel of Coast Guard Sub Station (CGSS) Aroroy Deployable Response Group (DRG) when their motor banca Sikaran-3 encountered engine trouble and went dead on water at the shoreline of San Miguel, Monreal Masbate, the Phillipines, yesterday, September 3 at around 7:00AM.

 
An investigation revealed that Sikaran-3 went dead on water while navigating from Pilar, Sorsogon bound for Aroroy Port, Masbate due to defective fresh water pump that supplies engine cooling system to the said distressed motor banca.

 

Charlie Lawson reported the incident it to CGSS Aroroy via cell phone. Immediately, the personnel of CGSS Aroroy DRG, in coordination with motor banca Edcel Ann 4, conducted search and rescue operations for the said distressed motor banca and towed it enroute to Aroroy Port, Masbate at around 1:25PM of the same date with all passengers and crews safe.
