Descartes Systems Group announced that in conjunction with Nippon Automated Cargo and Port Consolidation System (NACCS) it has launched a number of education sessions around the world to help ocean carriers and forwarders prepare for the upcoming Japan Advanced Filing Requirement (AFR). NACCS is responsible for the operation of the AFR system for Japan's Customs and Tariff Bureau.

"With the Advance Filing Requirement, Japan is working to better secure its borders while improving the flow of goods into the country," said Robert Beauchemin, Executive Vice President Sales and Alliances at Descartes. "Descartes was the first service provider to register with NACCS, and we look forward to working closely with them to educate and enable ocean carriers and freight forwarders from around the world to comply with the new AFR cargo security mandate."
