Director General of the Danish Maritime Authority a candidate for the post as IMO Secretary General
Denmark nominates Director General of the Danish Maritime Authority Andreas Nordseth for the post as Secretary General of United Nations’ International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Today, Minister for Business and Growth Henrik Sass Larsen has announced that Denmark will nominate Director General of the Danish Maritime Authority Andreas Nordseth as a candidate for the post as Secretary General of the IMO.
The post will become vacant on 1 January 2016 as present Secretary General Koji Sekimizu will resign from his position at the end of 2015.
It is expected that the election will be announced in December 2014 and will be held by the IMO Council in June/July 2015.
