SeaArk Marine Delivers Boat to Hayden Lake Fire District

SeaMarine of Monticello, Ark., recently built and delivered a 30-ft. all-welded aluminum Emergency Response Vessel to the Hayden Lake Fire Protection District in Hayden Lake, Idaho. SeaArk was named the successful builder in a competitive bidding process. The process will be used on Hayden Lake for fire fighting and rescue.

Hayden lake's new fireboat is SeaArk's Dauntless model, which is designed by C. Raymond Hunt and Associates and features a deep-V hull, wide chines, flared bow and lifting strakes to provide a stable, dry ride in rough operating conditions. The hull is constructed of durable, all-welded aluminum.

The new SeaArk fireboat is outfitted with a 1,500 gpm @ 150 psi Hale fire pump driven by Marine Power 350CID, 327 hp @ 4,600 rpm gasoline engine. The engine is heat-exchanger cooled. The system also features an Akron Brass 1,500 gpm monitor with a 5.5-in. Stortz master stream connection located on the forward deck. Additional features include a standpipe with a 2.5-in. gates Y located in the aft deck, port side pilothouse.

Powered by twin 250 hp mercury Outboard Gasoline Engines, the high-speed response vessel attained speeds in excess of 48 mph during builder's trials. A Mercury Jet 45 hp kicker engine is used for holding position and maneuvering in and around rescue sites. Fuel capacity is 100 gallons and is located under the rear deck.

Pat Riley, Firefighter-Hayden Lake Fire/Rescue, commented on the use of the new boat. "In the short time that we have had her in service as a fire/rescue boat, it has already saved a life, and in another incident put out a house fire. Without the boat, the house would have been a loss."
