Suezmax Tanker Delivered to NAT
Nordic American Tankers Limited (NAT) has today taken delivery of Nordic Castor, the second of four secondhand Japanese-built Suezmax tankers acquired in May 2016.
The first of the four vessels, Nordic Luna, was delivered June 1, and the third vessel is expected to be delivered near the end of June 2016 or early July, followed by the fourth vessel soon thereafter.
The four Cayman-flagged tankers – Nordic Luna, Nordic Castor, Nordic Pollux and Nordic Sirius – built between 2000 and 2004, were purchased for the aggregate price is $106 million and will each be employed immediately upon delivery.
With these four vessels, NAT Suezmax fleet stands at 30, including two newbuildings from Korea, scheduled for delivery in August 2016 and January 2017.
