Delaware State Police has taken delivery of its new dive boat, a RIBCRAFT 5.85.

RIBCRAFT, manufacturer of professional grade rigid inflatable boats (RIBs), built the 19' RIB for the State Police's SCUBA team to be used in search and recovery missions in the many waterways of Delaware. Designed specifically as a surf rescue craft, the 5.85 is a favorite among departments for its versatility and rough water performance, the builder said.

Configured specifically for the SCUBA team to provide ample deck space, the RIB features forward positioned rescue console with windscreen, open deck space to accommodate 4+ divers or Stokes baskets, robust antenna arch with integrated dive ladder, double skin tube reinforcement and dive flag signals.

The electronics include VHF, digital depth gauge with transducer, LED navigation lights and dual battery bank with charger.

Powered by a 115hp Mercury outboard, the boat reaches speeds in excess of 40mph while still providing unparalleled safety and unsurpassed performance.
