Damen Shipyards Cargo Vessels, Bergum Combine

Effective September 2010 the cargo vessel activities of the Damen Shipyards Cargo Vessels and Damen Shipyards Bergum will be combined and located in Bergum, the Netherlands. As a result of this effort the complete production line of sea going cargo vessels can be offered and delivered. This production line consists of a series of tankers of 2,500 to 8,000 tons and a series of multi-purpose cargo vessels of 2,500 to 13,500 tons deadweight.

Apart from product development and engineering also the project support and the construction supervision will take place in Bergum, a city in the North of the Netherlands, for many years engaged in the production of cargo vessels. Some of the vessels will be built/ completed at the yard’ locations in Bergum or Harlingen, but the larger sizes in close cooperation with the sister companies of Damen in Romania and China.

In addition to the construction and delivery of the cargo vessels also the full service package of the Damen Shipyards Group can be offered, such as maintenance, repairs and supply of spare parts.
