Crowley to Launch New Haiti Service

Crowley Liner Services announced today that beginning September 12 it will launch weekly, fixed-day service from Port Everglades, Fla., to Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Vessels will depart from Port Everglades every Friday, call Rio Haina, Dominican Republic, every Tuesday, arrive in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, every Wednesday, and return to Port Everglades every Friday. Crowley will use the Lift On / Lift Off (Lo/Lo) ship, Olympos, and offer customers the opportunity to book a wide variety of equipment, including 45-foot (102"-wide) containers, 40-foot high-cube and standard containers, 20-foot containers and 40-foot high-cube and 20-foot standard refrigerated containers. Garment-on hangar (GOH) containers, flat racks, open-top containers and other specialty equipment will also be available for in-gauge cargo. "As our business in Latin America grows, we are pleased to be able to bring our award-winning service to this new market," said Tom Crowley Jr., Chairman, President and CEO of Crowley Maritime Corporation. "Our service is well-suited for shippers involved in Haiti's textile and agricultural industries." In addition to service to and from the United States, Crowley will offer service between Haiti and any other port of origin the company serves - including those in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Mexico, Central America, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic .
