Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

October 30, 2008

SpecTec, world supplier of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems to the shipping industry, is the author of Shipdex. Shipdex is an exchange protocol for the digital documentation that is based on the AIA/ASD/ATA S1000D standard. Corena is a world supplier of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf products managing the production, publishing, distribution, and use of technical documentation for complex equipment.

In addition to making its core product, Life*S1000D, Shipdex compliant, Corena will develop additional Shipdex modules for manufacturers, ship owners and ship operators. The Shipdex modules will be marketed by SpecTec as part of the AMOS Business Suite for the shipping industry.

“This is an important market break entrance for Corena. We already have several naval organizations as our customers and will through our partnership with SpecTec obtain access to their global user base. Also it is a pleasure to observe that the S1000D standard, which Shipdex is built upon, is being adopted in more and more industries,” says Toralf Johannessen, CEO and President of Corena.
