Contship Offers Enhanced Service

Contship Containerlines is enhancing its presence in the North America - Mediterranean container shipping trade. The frequency of its service between ports on the U.S. Gulf and East Coasts; Mexico and the Mediterranean has been improved from nine days to weekly and it is now operated by six ships of between 2400 teu and 3300 teu. Efficient relay services through hubs in the Mediterranean allow Contship to offer on carriage to markets in the Eastern Mediterranean, Middle East and Indian sub-continent. "Our transit times are now even more competitive," said David Halliday, Senior Vice President of CP Ships with overall responsibility for Contship Containerlines. "Contship's participation in this service is now in its 14th year and goes from strength to strength. "The latest service upgrade demonstrates our commitment to customers that are shipping between the USA, Mexico and the Mediterranean. We are confident that shippers on both sides of the Atlantic will welcome the improvements." The port rotation of the service remains Miami, Veracruz, Altamira, Houston, New Orleans, San Juan, Gioia Tauro, Livorno, Genoa, Barcelona, Valencia and Miami.
