New Navy Contracts
EnerSys Energy Products, Inc., Warrensburg, Mo., is being awarded a $17,816,784 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the design and construction of submarine valve regulated lead acid class batteries and associated parts and engineering support. This contract is for the procurement of replacement back-up batteries for in-service nuclear submarines. Work will be performed in Warrensburg, Mo., and is expected to be completed by October 2012. Contract funds in the amount of $12,100 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. FLIR Systems, Inc., Wilsonville, Ore., is being awarded a $27,099,732 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for procurement of electro-optics sensors (EOS) and required training, provision item order, non-warranty repairs, non-warranty repairs over and above, and data for the Shipboard Protection System (SPS) Program. The EOS is a Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) Laser Detecting-Ranging-Tracking System, in support of the SPS Program. These EOS systems are used as rugged and ship-mountable systems to provide surface ships with a day and night, high-resolution, infrared and visible band imaging capability, as well as range finding capability, to augment existing optical and radar sensors for the purpose of detecting and identifying asymmetric threats. Work will be performed in Wilsonville, Ore., and is expected to be completed in Aug. 2015. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year.
