Horizon Cruises, Inc., of New York Harbor, signed a $4 million contract with Blount Industries, in Warren, R.I., to design and construct a 161 ft. dinner cruise vessel. Completion is scheduled for November 1999.
The design, which follows the lines of a large futuristic yacht, will be certified for dinner, with minimum additions to include casino operation.
This will be the 24th Blount-built dinner boat, and the sixth dinner vessel to operate in New York Harbor.
The 600-passenger vessel will be powered by two 620 hp 16V-92 Detroit Diesel engines and will be equipped with two 200 kW Detroit generators. The vessel will be built with three enclosed decks, providing a yacht-style dining experience.
