Technip Awarded Contract for Norway’s Snorre Project

Technip has been awarded by Statoil ASA a contract, worth approximately $30.1m, for the development of the Snorre field in the Norwegian North Sea.

The contract covers the welding and installation of a 9 kilometer-long rigid steel flowline(1) to connect the Snorre A and B platforms. It also includes installation and tie-in of the flexible risers(2) required to connect the flowline to the platforms.

This contract will be executed by Technip’s operating center in Oslo, Norway. The flowline will be welded at the Group’s Spoolbase in Orkanger, Norway. Risers installation is scheduled for the summer of 2011, while flowline installation, to be performed by the new pipelay vessel from Technip fleet Apache II, will be done in the first half of 2012, followed by the tie-in operations.
