Aluminum Chambered Boats (ACB) has been awarded a $9.88m contract to provide the United States Coast Guard (USCG) with 47 rigid hull inflatable boats
for their Cutter Boat-Large (CB-L) fleet. This is a five year contract with the first boat deliverable in 90
days.
The ACB CB-L will replace the USCG’s aging fleet. The 24-foot CB-L is a center console vessel capable
of conducting multiple missions in all weather conditions such as search and rescue (SAR), maritime law enforcement (MLE), ports and waterways and coastal security. The CB-L is designed to carry a three man crew and up to nine
passengers, is equipped with shock mitigated seating for the crew and gun mounts to accommodate M240G/M16 forward and aft for MLE missions. Powered with a Cummins QSD 2.8 230 HP Bravo 1 with Mercury outdrive, the vessel’s
top speed is 39.5 knots.
ACB has built a team of numerous seasoned military and marine industry professionals with collective
skill sets that provide the basis of the ACB construction and logistics team.
