Continued Expansion of Liferaft Service in Taiwan

In Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s continued expansion of its liferaft service station network, the company has opened a new liferaft service station in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. 
 
“With the Kaohsiung Service Station we will be able to exchange liferafts in all ports in Taiwan, which means we can serve our customers even better,” comments Harald Lundestad, General Manager for Wilhelmsen Ships Service in Taiwan. “There will be a strong focus on servicing vessels associated with the expansion of shipping activity in the Taipei and Kaohsiung ports.”
 
As with all the company’s global liferaft service stations Wilhelmsen Ships Service will be supplying its own Unitor branded liferaft range to customers, in a proven scheme which offers an alternative to traditional liferaft ownership. Lundestad further explains, “We can ensure our customers' compliance with due date monitoring and the fact that liferafts can simply be exchanged without delay, even during short stays in port."

Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s rental exchange program has grown rapidly in popularity as customers recognise the simplicity and convenience of the system. The company’s worldwide network of offices and service stations enables vessels to swop liferafts in every global region. The program makes pricing predictable for customers through an annual rental fee that makes operational budgeting easier.

Kaohsiung Service Station is also equipped and qualified to carry out inspections, tests and refilling of fire extinguisher systems, smoke detector systems, foam and chemicals systems, breathing apparatus, escape sets, lifejackets, resuscitator sets, compressors, immersion suits, tests, and gas detectors. Additionally, the station is qualifi ed to inspect and service a wide range of leading name liferaft brands.
