Lühr New Container Line Manager

Hartmut Lühr (47), executive board chairman of VTG-Lehnkering AG, has been appointed manager of Hapag-Lloyd Container Line with effect from May 1st 2004. He will be responsible for Region Europe.

Hartmut Lühr, who trained as a forwarding professional, gained experience in forwarding and liner shipping at Schenker and Maersk before being appointed head of global sea freight business at Schenker International AG (Essen) in 1997. In 1999, Lühr switched to Hapag-Lloyd Container Line, where he became head of marketing (Region Europe). At the beginning of 2001, he was appointed member of the executive board of VTG-Lehnkering AG responsible for the business unit rail and tank container logistics. Lühr then assumed the position of executive board chairman of VTG-Lehnkering AG with effect from January 1st 2004.
