The Southeastern New England Shipbuilding Corp. (Senesco) was awarded a $120,000 contract for the construction of four steel floats for Boston Harbor Cruises. Measuring 48 x 8 x 3 ft. (14.6 x 2.4 x 0.9 m), each float, which allows passengers to walk to the boats, will be utilized in the docking systems for the cruise line.
With fabrication currently underway at Quonset Point, the project is scheduled for completion in mid-March.
This is the second contract for Senesco, who just completed a 400-ton, $420,000 barge for a Boston construction company.
