Celebrity Cruises' Constellation, the fourth in the top-rated premium cruise line's Millennium-class fleet, yesterday set sail from Barcelona, Spain, on her maiden voyage. The new vessel brings the Celebrity fleet total to nine ships, with more than 16,000 berths.
"Constellation completes Celebrity's series of sleek Millennium-class vessels designed to provide our guests with extraordinary vacation experiences," said Celebrity Cruises President Jack Williams.
"Like her sister ships - Millennium, Infinity and Summit - Constellation
extends the popular traditions introduced on those vessels, along with new
and distinctive features all her own."
Among the compelling elements of Celebrity's Constellation is "Ocean
Liners" restaurant, the fourth in Celebrity's distinctive series of
specialty restaurants recalling the best of classic transatlantic travel,
with actual artifacts gleaned from some the world's most famous luxury
liners. Among the extraordinary items accenting Constellation's Ocean
Liners restaurant are sets of original, lacquered paneling from the Ile de
France, one of the most revolutionary vessels of the 1920s.
"Constellation's Ocean Liners restaurant presents another incredibly
appealing dining option for guests who enjoy a casually elegant setting
with unparalleled service and cuisine," said Williams. "Again under the
direction of Master Chef Michel Roux, Ocean Liners underscores the benchmark Celebrity set with Constellation's sister ships, in offering the only tableside cooking and carving at sea, and a dine-in wine cellar featuring nearly 200 labels from around the world."
