LNG Consortium Orders Eight Ships

The joint Iran-India liquefied natural gas consortium, which is yet to be established formally, is to place an order for eight new LNG carriers valued at $1.6 billion as its first step for exports, according to a report on Manoramaonline.com. The carriers, which are expected to be delivered in 2010, would transport 7.5 million tons of LNG to India annually.
