From the beginning of May, Hapag-Lloyd will be offering a new express connection from Germany to the Baltic region. The Russia Express Service (REX) links Hamburg and Bremerhaven, the two major North German hubs in Hapag-Lloyd's worldwide service network, directly with Russia, Finland and Poland.

The two vessels used on REX each have a capacity of 1,400 TEU and meet the highest standard ice-class. They call weekly at the ports of Bremerhaven, Hamburg, St. Petersburg, Helsinki, and Gdynia, before returning to Bremerhaven. From the two North German ports, there are numerous onward connections within Hapag-Lloyd’s global service network.

Hapag-Lloyd has 6,900 employees at 300 sites in 114 countries. It operates more than 84 of its own liner services and has an extensive feeder network, linking over 430 ports around the world. The total fleet (including charters) consists of some 150 vessels with a total capacity of nearly 680,000 TEU. This makes Hapag-Lloyd currently the fourth-largest liner shipping company in the world.
