The growth of diesel engine use in the marine industry has created a need for basic education and hands-on instruction for owners who want to do their own repairs. To address this need, Mack Boring & Parts Company and Engine City Technical Institute offer one-day basic diesel seminars and two-day diesel engine courses at three locations.
The one-day sessions are designed to help owners become familiar with, or update their knowledge of Yanmar diesels. The two-day classes cover basic service and emergency repairs, along with hands-on instruction.
Instruction during both classes includes the identification, removal and replacement of basic lubrication, fuel, electrical and cooling system components.
The one-day class is scheduled to be offered October 25, November 8 and December 13, 1999, at the company's Union, N.J. facility. Year 2000 dates include January 17, February 14 and 28, March 27, April 10 and May 8 in Union, N.J. Additionally, a class will be held February 7 in Wilmington, N.C., and classes will be held March 13-15 and June 5 at the company's Braintree, Mass. facility.
